One of the big things that drew me to getting involved in our community: disc golf. When I was brand new here, I worked with other residents and the City to get the Thrill Hill Disc Golf Course built. It was hugely rewarding. I wanted to continue working to make Grande Prairie better, and to help others to do the same.
Because disc golf started my Council journey, I always host a disc golf event as part of my campaign. So on September 29th, I’ll be hosting a Birdie Hunt. 6:00pm at Thrill Hill. This is a fun, casual format. Details on it are below.
This is a campaign fundraiser. To get elected, money is needed to pay for a website, buy door knocking literature, build signs, host events, and support volunteers. This event finances all those expenses.
This event costs $40. It comes with a fun round of disc golf, and birdie bounty tag for your bag, and a chance at some small prizes. There will also be opportunities to make additional donations to buy advantages or get a chance at some prizes (details below).
If you can’t attend this event but would still like to donate to my campaign, you can click here. If would like to purchase a birdie bounty tag, I will be selling extras by donation.
You can reserve your spot by filling out this form. You’ll receive an email with more information, including how to pay.
Birdie hunt format
One Round at Thrill Hill
Winner is the person with the most birdies. Overall score does not matter.
Players can use a “bullet” to re-do any shot. It can be used on a drive, approach, or putt. Players can use as many bullets as they wish to use.
All players who pre-register will be given 3 free bullets. Players can purchase additional bullets before the round for a $2 donation per bullet. They can purchase additional bullets mid-round for a $3 donation per bullet.
Players can purchase a shot gun shell at anytime for a $5. They can use a shotgun shell to force another player to re-do any shot.
donation information
The $40 event entry does NOT count as a political donation for the purpose of campaign disclosures
Any additional spending, including for bullets or shotgun shells, counts as a donation. The names and addresses of everyone who donates $50 (ie: pays $50 in addition to the entry fee, so $90 total) or more will be included on my Campaign Finances Disclosure
Tie Breaker
In the event of a tie for number of birdies, whoever had the most recent birdie(s) will win
For example: Players A & B tie for first. Player A birdied hole 18, Player B did not birdie hole 18. Player A wins.
For example: Players C & D tie for first. Both players birdied holes 18, 17, & 16. Player C birdied hole 15, Player D did not birdie hole 15. Player C wins.
