Dylan Bressey Launches Council Campaign Season

GRANDE PRAIRE, AB —On Saturday morning at an event held on the Thrill Hill Disc Golf Course, Dylan Bressey was the first candidate to fling himself into the race for City Council. When asked why he chose this venue, Dylan said “designing, fundraising for, and building this course was one of my proudest accomplishments. I love that I got to use disc golf to bring more accessible recreation to Grande Prairie.”

“I am excited to be the first candidate to officially launch a campaign for City Council,” said Dylan Bressey. “I’ve spent years investing in this community, and months meeting with individuals one-on-one to talk about Grande Prairie’s future. It is clear to me that people want more connection in our community. So connection is what my campaign is going to be about.”

Dylan’s campaign will feature the GP Round Table; a series of live events designed to get people talking. “I want my campaign to be about conversation. We all have dreams, ideas, and even frustrations that should be heard,” says Bressey. Live events are being supplemented with discussion on a GP Round Table Facebook group. All members of the community, including other candidates, are invited to take part.

Talking about his campaign theme, Dylan said “Connection is at the heart of a thriving city. Connection is what creates an attractive and welcoming community. It is one of the best tools we have in crime prevention and mental health. It is what lets us get together with our neighbours to further the causes we care about. Connection to their community is also vital for Council members who wish to make wise decisions that further the sustainability and livability of our city.”

With extensive experience in various non-profit organisations, Dylan Bressey brings a unique combination of perspective and enthusiasm to the race. To find out more about Dylan and his campaign, visit To take part in the GP Round Table discussions, visit
