info for sign Crews
One of the best parts of an eleciton campaign: getting those signs down! And I need your help.
All we need is yourself, a water bottle, and work gloves. You don’t need to bring anything else to help. But the following tools are very helpful if you can bring them:
A truck or vehicle you are willing to hop curbs in
Driver with square bits
Sledgehammer
Regular Hammer
Instructions for taking down signs:
Unscrew stakes, remove stakes from ground (hitting them side-to-side with a hammer if they won’t come out)
Remove the 2 diagonal braces that connect the vertical and horizontal pieces
Remove the 2 horizontal “legs”
Screw each diagonal brace to one leg
Screw the legs to the outside of the frame, one on each side
DO NOT screw the stakes to the sign
BE CAREFUL LOADING to insure the sign doesn’t get scratched
FILL OUT THIS GOOGLE SHEET: use the row that corresponds to the sign you are working on. If you have disassembled it but left it on location: put an x under “disassembled” and write a brief description or paste a google map pin to tell where exactly it is. If you have picked it up, put an x under both “picked up.” Please also put your crew’s name into the sheet in case there are questions.
A map of zones and a verbal description of them is posted below. You can see detailed maps of each zone at the end of the Use of Public Lands Bylaw.
If you have any questions or problems, you can call or text Aaron Penson: 780-518-0113
Our sign locations
Click here to download a PDF document outlining all the locations we put signs in. The first page is an overall map of the City. Following pages are detailed maps of each location. Important note: not all signs got put in the exact locations dictated by this bookelet.
Here is a Google map route that will take you to all locations we are using in order.
These are all the locations we took signs to. The Blue circles are location numbers assigned by the City. Squares are where we actually left signs. On the left is the order the trailer will be going in.
Following is a map with the order we will be setting signs up in:
