info for sign Crews

Thank you for helping me get signs out! They are an important part of campaigning.

All we need is yourself, a water bottle, and work gloves. You don’t need to bring anything else to help. But the following tools are very helpful if you can bring them:

  • A truck or vehicle you are willing to hop curbs in

  • Driver with square bits

  • Sledgehammer

  • Regular Hammer

  • Measuring tape (the longer the better)

  • Golf range finder

We will show you how to put the signs up. But one very important thing this year: if you remove any screws, throw them out and replace them with a brand new one.

Below are the sign locations we will be using. They are regulated by the final appendix in the Use of Public Lands Bylaw. As we put up signs, we need to obey the following rules.

  • Signs need to be placed at least 1m away from traffic control devices, traffic signs, curbs, sidewalks, pathways, property lines and fences.

  • Signs need to be at least 3m away from other candidates’ signs.

  • Signs cannot be on or touching any physical structure: they must be completely on grass or gravel

  • 60m or 50m away from intersections. Please be very careful with this one, and error on the side of caution (put them further away from intersections than you think they need to go). This is measured to the closest curb of the intersection. Each zone’s map will tell you if it requires 50m or 60m.

There are 48 zones in which all signs may be placed. Each zone has been given a number by the City. We will be referring to them by these Zone numbers. Please see below.

A map of zones and a verbal description of them is posted below. You can see detailed maps of each zone at the end of the Use of Public Lands Bylaw.

Our sign locations

Click here to download a PDF document outlining all the location we will be going to. The first page is an overall map of the City. Following pages are detailed maps of where we are putting each sign. They are in the order we will be dropping them.

Here is a Google map route that will take you to all locations we are using in order.

These are all the locations we will be taking signs to. The Blue circles are location numbers assigned by the City. Squares are where we will actually be leaving signs. One the left is the order the trailer will be dropping them off in.

Following is a map with the order we will be setting signs up in:
