info for sign Crews

Thank you for helping me get signs out! They are an important part of campaigning.

It’s very important that we follow all sign rules. The important ones:

  • Signs need to be placed at least 1m away from traffic control devices, traffic signs, curbs, sidewalks, pathways, property lines and fences.

  • Signs need to be at least 3m away from other candidates’ signs.

  • Signs cannot be on or touching any physical structure: they must be completely on grass or gravel

  • 60m away from intersections. Please be very careful with this one, and error on the side of caution (put them further away from intersections than you think they need to go). If you have troubles finding a spot for on, some locations only require 50m clearance. You need to check the individual zone maps in the Bylaw to see whether a location requires 50m or 60m.

There are 48 zones in which all signs must be placed. We will be referring to locations based on these zone numbers.

A map of zones and a verbal description of them is posted below. You can see detailed maps of each zone at the end of the Use of Public Lands Bylaw.

If you have any questions or problems, you can call or text Aaron Penson: 780-518-0113
