A good Council is one with diversity. Every Monday I am taking some time to write about unique perspectives I would bring to the Council table.Today I am going to talk about my career.

I've spent over ten years working for an organisation called Young Life. I run youth mentoring programs throughout the Peace Country. My job is to recruit and train volunteers, build partnerships with schools and other organisations, and to raise funds.

Age and Experience

Until October 16th, I will be taking some time every Monday to tell you a bit about myself. I’ll be sharing something that has both prepared me for Council and that which makes me different than other candidates. A good Council is one with diversity. I want to let you know about the unique perspectives I bring to the table.Today I will discuss my age and experience.

I am 32 years old--just shy of Grande Prairie’s median age. At the same time, I have a depth of experience that has prepared me well to serve on Council.

Managing a Huge Summer Camp

I don't do anything in half measures. It just isn't in my personality. This means that since launching in April, I have put a lot of into work into campaigning. So the day after knocking on my 1000th door (www.voteBressey.ca/blog/1000doors), I took a few weeks well deserved weeks away from the campaign. But I didn't go on vacation. I went away to manage a summer camp: RockRidge Canyon. This camp is a huge property which has over 400 people on site at any given time in the summer. Providing leadership to an operation of this scale is quite the undertaking!
